During the lockdown Monika Boroni decided to go back to her violin roots and create a special musical journey into the origins of the solo violin. With music and with words she will take us on a path from the evolution of the violin and through the repertoire from 1585 till 1750.

Monika Boroni finished her masters in baroque violin in Kraków, in the violin class of Sirrka-Liisa Kaakinen-Pilch, and for many years studied violin in France in Pavel Amilcar’s baroque violin class. 

Monika will perform on three different instruments; two old ones (a copy of Amati made by Tomasz Kowalski and an instrument from ca 1856, its maker unknown), and one so-called modern violin (a family heirloom, made in Germany ca. 1900).

Monika has played in a variety ensembles; Contrasto Armonico, Capella Cracoviensis, Harmonia Sacra, Berlin Baroque, Wroclaw Baroque Ensamble, Capella 1547 – and has played 1st violin in the Il giardino d'amore and Cappella dell'Ospedale della Pietà Venezia ensembles.

In addition to touring live annually with the various ensembles in the U.S., China and Europe, Boroni has made numerous recordings with Stefan Plewniak, Jakub Józef Orliński and Natalia Kawałek. Monika now teaches violin in the NOR59 - Strykeinstitutt in Oslo – and is currently working on her debut solo album.
